Another easy fall bear season
Three weeks of fall bear hunting in the wraps, and went off as smooth as we could ask for. A huge thank you to our awesome team here at Hunts from the Heart whom got the bear baiting off to an early start while I was south chasing antelope, and then helping nail down the best productive baits for our clients. Hunting was solid as it could be, and we continued to take numerous big bears, as well as an overall average that was above the 225 marker that I tell clients is an average bear. Despite 100 success, I would say that overall baits were generally slower, with most baits seeing only 1-6 bears on them, not the normal year where you have several of those go-to baits where there are 12 plus bears on a bait. Putting the blame there on the overly dry summer and fall, leading to lack of food in the immediate bush, pushing bears into area south where they could find more food. But as noted, it wasn't an issue at all for us to get everyone on solid bears.
