3/3 For John Fox
John Fox from Nebraska is no stranger to our hunts, returning annually for bears in Manitoba, and decided this year he would do a double hunt, first starting in Alberta, then coming to Manitoba. Night one in Alberta, he'd dunk a great 325 caliber bear. Staying to the sidelines while others took what were likely the preferred baits, John hunted a bait that hadn't been hit in the past three days. Upon getting there, it hadn't been touched, but without an option, he sat the bait, to have a tank of a bear, one of our largest ever in Alberta stroll through at 5:30 in the afternoon to get dunked by John. Moving over to Manitoba, he would pass on a bear that most would shoot, and we would the next day with another hunter. Down to the last 30 minutes of the last day, this 416 pound bear cruised in and the rest is history. Guide Jessica Truthwaite showing just the size of this last bear.
